Jessie Reyez, Youtube's Artist On The Rise
On Friday May 18th, we worked with Youtube Music to bring you the live stream of Jessie Reyez's Q&A with Lilly Singh.
The show took place outside of the usual Youtube Space LA campus and instead, was held at an intimate bar/restaurant in Beverly Hills. Fans got to sit only a few feet away from Jessie while she performed a few acoustic songs for them. Following this, there was a short Q&A with fans followed by a more in-depth Q&A done with moderator, Lilly Singh.
The show featured three Canon C300 MKII cameras to capture footage, a NewTek TriCaster 460 to switch the show, a Yamaha QL1 Digital Mixing console to monitor and mix audio. With our control room having to be in a back room of the venue, our ability to think on the fly and adapt was crucial. We are no strangers to working in small areas, so the challenge was one that was warmly welcomed.
